Mud pump is a kind of reciprocating piston pump, which  converts the rotary motion of the motor into the reciprocating linear motion of the crosshead and piston through the crank connecting rod mechanism, and compresses the low-pressure mud into high-pressure mud. During the drilling process, the drilling fluid with high viscosity, high specific gravity and high sand content is transported to the bottom of the well at high pressure, which is used to cool the drill bit, flush the bottom of the well, break up the rock, and carry out the rock chips when returning from the bottom of the well, and it is one of the most important technological equipments in the petroleum drilling operation.
