They are classified as type Short (SDS), Medium (SDML), and Extra Long (SDXL) according to gripping length. SDS slips are expertly crafted for shallow hole drilling. SDML slips represent the ideal choice for all medium-depth drilling, while SDXL slips are meticulously designed for deep drilling operations.
Drill pipe slips Type SD can seamlessly accommodate drill pipes ranging from 2-3/8 to 7 inches. They are classified into Short (SDS), Medium (SDML), and Extra Long (SDXL) types. SDS slips are perfect for shallow hole drilling, SDML slips are optimally suited for medium depth drilling, and SDXL slips are designed for deep drilling.
